Local Author's Fair 2017

Today was my very first official Author event at our local library. It was awesome to be seated next to my husband and an honor to be able to attend this event!

I will remember this day forever. I am grateful for the people who turned out to show their appreciate and support of local author's that were in attendance, but mostly for the one woman who looked over my books and came back a short time later to purchase one of them. She walked away from my table and went about her business for nearly half an hour, renting books from the library and looking over other tables and books. There were many in attendance to choose from.

But she made a choice to come back, for whatever reason, purposefully, to pick out the one book that she couldn't get out of her mind and decided that she had to have. I have sold other books to friends, family, and complete strangers on Amazon and I am grateful for every, single purchase. But there was something special about this one. It was my first "I love what you are selling, and I need more of it," my first "I am making the choice to pick this specific book over the others around you."

For whatever reason, she was drawn to my table, my books, and that is how a complete stranger falls in love with your books, and becomes a fan. More often than not, we never meet those that purchase our books on Amazon so we don't get to see how they think or what they feel as they buy our books.

I will be forever grateful to this woman, this stranger who took a chance on me, and how chose to leave with my book in her hand. I loved watching her face, her excitement as she bought my book and left, excited to get started reading it.

Thank you, to that sweet, perfect stranger, for this gift. I do not take it lightly and I promise not to let you down by giving up when the going gets tough. It is moments like this that make me believe that I truly can do anything I put my mind to!
